Pros

Work Perks include dood technology, standing desks and office potlucks aplenty. There's even a beer fridge, enjoyed responsibly. Open space office is a plus if you're an extrovert. Clean working space. Pluralsight training. Very modern atmosphere. Neat business idea. A growing company.

Cons

Screen lookers and busybodies everywhere, make sure you have a timer labeled "lunch" or something in real big font or you get tattled on for "not working" even on break. You got to look busy even if you aren't. Even if you've been given nothing to do. Seasonal reviews are inaccurate, only in place to embarrass and let your boss bully you without consequence. Changing or reducing hours is horrible, as HR is in another state and won't give you enough time off to get diagnosed as per their requirements for reduced hours. Then you end up losing more time being sick and untreated. Will not follow instructions for disability accommodations or will conveniently forget. Not a lot of work to do in QA, a lot of downtime, but you get singled out if you get done early or don't look busy enough. They'll give you work you don't know how to do/outside of your job description. No matter how much you pipe up about how you want to help, they won't give you something feasible. But you get yelled at for "being off task" if you do or read anything else. This is also frustrating as you'll see others on YouTube and watching gaming live streams while working and not getting in trouble. This encourages you to work very slow. There isn't an on boarding process for QA. Pointing this out makes everyone mad. at you. They'll steal the on boarding checklist from tech ops and put it on Confluence and call it a day. It has nothing to do with what you do. The documentation you make will get thrown out/deleted. Only people who have been there since the beginning of VetData are promoted, there's a lot of internal hiring which is understandable but also frustrating for new hires who are in an ill-suited position. No Lateral mobility, at least for me. Many people in the office will suddenly stop talking to you or informing you of things. Some people will be openly mean. This means the original group who started VetData don't like you and want you to leave, but don't have a good reason to fire you. It's incredibly alienating and it works.
