Don’t really listen to innovation ideas from employees. Instead, tend to fetishize consultants and will bring them in way too much to tell them the exact same things. Seems largely due to having people in leadership positions who are not qualified to be in those roles. Also, some of the leaders have been in the roles way too long, are incredibly ineffective and even toxic to their teams and will never get moved out of the company because of their friendship with the company owner. A couple of failed organizational structures over the years as well.
