Pros
Profit sharing Great training in the Claims Department from experienced individuals Remote Work (only due to COVID19) Tight knit community of workers that will care about your well being as long as you don't rock the boat politically. I would recommend this company to a friend as a starting point for their career.
Cons
This company /does not value work/life balance/ for incoming Millennial/Gen Z workers/employees with 1 income/single parents This company is extremely slow to progress since the majority of their employees are 45+ yo, which results in high turnover rate for anyone joining the company under 35 yo because it's impossible to progress at a fast pace. Development/Career plans are focused entirely on "what can I do to be promoted" and not "what can I do to be a better employee" because workers are highly fixated on making more money due to the low starting salaries and high cost of living in VT. Company tells you the only way to advance is to spend your time studying for certifications, ignoring the fact that there is no room to grow due to lack of available positions. Company does not cover the different costs in materials depending on how a person studies best. Company will also discourage you from earning those certifications too fast. This company would rather let go of good workers than address the reasons they're not up to par, nor will they work with you to find solutions to keep good workers.
