Pros
There are lots of great benefits to working for Verkada, from free meals to commuter expenses. The real value, though, can be found in what you will learn and how it will set you up for your sales career. You will have a Director who is an extremely skilled sales rep but also knows how to translate that knowledge well. So you can attack the phones with confidence while maximising your efficiency with constantly evolving workflows. For a company that's full of people who are very busy, you will be surprised how many individuals are willing to go out of their way to help you get better—don't be afraid to ask. The program will test you and push you to be better, at the very least, you will know whether sales is for you or not. People in the office have personalities and are a real pleasure to interact with; you will definitely make friends. It's not your typical clock-in, clock-out job. You will also have access to lots of sales tools that make your workflow much easier. The MDR manager is extremely passionate about the program and is always going out of his way to find new ways to make it fun and exciting through games and incentives. I would recommend this role for someone who is certain sales is their career path. If you are coachable, have a great work ethic, and resilience, this is a good place to start. The actual role itself and the day-to-day are a lot of fun. You will spend lots of time on the phone working with an MDR team that genuinely loves to celebrate each other's success.
Cons
This is a role where you need a strong "why" as you will be tested. I wouldn't advise it for anyone who has a lukewarm attitude toward sales. BUT if you are passionate about sales, have a strong work ethic, and are just starting out, this is most definitely an experience you need to have.
