Pros

There are a lot of learning opportunities at Vericant. You'll be able to learn a lot of things quickly, and if you want to move into a certain department, the company will do its best to make it happen. Good work-life balance, if that's important to you. Also, management is filled with really nice, genuine people. It's rare to find a company that has good intentions all around.

Cons

Pay is pretty low compared to foreign countries, but if you're comparing it to average the average Chinese salary, it might be a bit higher. Also, if you are the type that needs a lot of instruction, Vericant might not be the best fit for you. Vericant really likes motivated, efficient, and self-sufficient people who can quickly orient themselves and not be too afraid of having more responsibility. That's not to say that there's no mentorship, because there is, but Vericant actively wants its employees to up their levels.

Pros

Working at a small company (~20 people) like Vericant means you wear many hats. You learn so much and get larger responsibilities very early on. If you to expand your responsibilities into other fields, just ask and management will make it happen. There is no micro managing here, which is great. Management really trusts you and is always there for you. There is a great mentorship/coaching program, and you have weekly one-on-ones with managers to talk about your work progress, if you are running into any issues, etc. It is really a great post-graduate experience. You have true ownership over many projects, and employees are able to move up the ladder faster than they would at other companies.

Cons

The benefits here is a bit lacking. There are no catered lunches, no discounts to gyms or movies, no 401k, no dental insurance, no vision insurance, no life insurance policy, no unlimited PTO, no equity, and the salary is not very high. So if you are a recent graduate with a lot of student loans, it might make things difficult. However, if you do not have student loans (lucky you), then you can get buy (not much savings though). Sometimes it feels like certain days are very chaotic and disorganized, but I guess that is very common with startups.

Pros

As a recent graduate, I found that Vericant was able to provide me with all the right professional habits that future employers take note of. Work expectations are clear, standards are high, and support is readily available in the form of a mentorship network.

Cons

Vericant works in a very niche market, so it's important to think about what position you take on in the company in order to meet your long term career goals.
