Pros
- Remote-first engineering team - Supportive teammates who are a pleasure to work with - That’s pretty much it :(
Cons
The direction of the company used to feel promising, but the decline’s been hard to ignore: - The self-proclaimed "CTO" is not competent. He ignores technical input, defaults to buzzwords, and encourages division between teammates rather than cross-functional collaboration - Engineers are siloed and treated like resources whose only purpose is to pump out code. We're discouraged from collaborating or driving solutions across teams - The COO now manages Product and Design but lacks the expertise to lead a product team effectively - There is no consistency, momentum and ownership don't exist, despite leadership claims to the contrary - Leadership rewards saying “yes” over being right. Engineering leadership decisions feel performative rather than thoughtful
