Were you told at your interview that this company *doesn't* have direct deposit? I wasn't. I assumed a technology company had direct deposit, and that was wayyyyy wrong. Things may have changed, but definitely ask if they've direct deposit yet. Physical checks were given out on payday, and if the payday fell on a weekend or holiday - well, looks like you're waiting a few days. Don't be sick when checks are handed out! Also, checks were given in late afternoon, to make it as difficult as possible to get to the bank that same day.
Directors are an odd topic at this company. Many whom Vectorform has bestowed the title 'director' do not have, nor are working upon, a master's degree, the industry norm. This title isn't given by how well you can manage other people, nor by skill level, nor leadership ability, but rather if you're A) a favorite or B) constantly experimenting with bleeding edge technology. Give some thought to how this could impact your career, reporting to such type a person that will always value things other than their subordinates well being.
Like other reviewers have said, the cliques can be brutal. Finding yourself without a clique is like being without a tribe, and there are some ostracized in said manner.
Project management here is more like being an account executive vs running a project team. Again, a deviation from the norms of industry peers.
