Pros

Vanguard is one of the few companies where you can really feel confident about your job stability. The company doesn't hire indiscriminately and the recruiting process is controlled tightly by senior management. This makes Vanguard an incredibly efficient company. It's business is thriving and is really one of the best in the industry. Also diversity is very valued and the work culture is very disciplined and comfortable. The benefits package is definitely one of the best in the industry. Overall, it's perfect for those who are in mid career stage and who want stability, family work-life balance and also to people who want to retire.

Cons

It doesn't help much for a fresh college graduates. The downside of stability is that there is very little turnover which means career growth is incredibly challenging.

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
