Pros
Not much. Contrary to popular belief, Vanguard is not the best place to work. The organization has gone down hill in the 15+ years that I have been employed there.
Cons
There is a rampant air of disrespect and discrimination. "Managing out" is a term you will hear constantly. If you are over 40, near retirement, a Black woman or disabled in any way, you are on the managing out list. If you speak up and are honest about anything, you are targeted. Don't dare tell your manager that you disagree with their point... You might be escorted out right then. The shenanigans are real. I actually overheard a manager talk about "getting someone out..." Your work ethic does not count. Only who you know and who likes you. And if you have a best friend at work, then you might survive. That shows you are "nice." They keep "nice" people. Did I mention you have to go out to lunch, dinner or drinks for the manager to see you are connected with the team? Even if you don't drink? Oh by the way, make sure you contribute to the baby shower gift and boss' day gift.
