Understaffed, outdated technology, management does not care - Registered Nurse Valley Presbyterian Hospital Employee Review

Pros

Decent pay compared to other community hospitals.

Cons

The pay is not worth the stress of heavy workload. Usually understaffed with ancient EMR. Charting takes a big chunk of time. The PCU-Stepdown is 4:1 instead of 3:1. Supervisors say there is possibility having onky 3 patients if acuity is heavy but that never happened because RNs are forced to admit immediately after discharging a patient.

It is a stand-alone non-profit hospital and it is not unionized

Cons

Staffing is always a challenge. You end up working with a lot of travelers and registry. HR department is incompetent
