Pros
Vaco is definitely better than some of the other contractor/vendor companies I've worked for in the past. While they don't have sick days or PTO, at least for my team, they did offer paid holidays, which was nice. The onboarding process was fast and easy, and the job itself was very enjoyable. I loved working with my team. While I think the health care benefits are ridiculously expensive for the quality and so were some of the other benefits, I think the company itself was a relatively good one to work for.
Cons
My complaint (and very low rating) is due to my team's manager. He was extremely micro-managing, but would claim otherwise. When the team was working their hardest but not to his expectations, he would indirectly berate us and make us feel like we were incompetent. When we were getting fed up and wanted to talk about these things, he would talk us into submission so that we wouldn't fight against his unrealistic decisions. Despite working as hard as we could, we were unable to clear our queues, which upset him. The easiest solution available to him was to hire more people (which he said was possible), and yet he didn't and blamed us for not working hard enough. There were many, many more issues with him that I wished I had reached out to HR for. I've been fortunate enough to find another job and leave this company- specifically his management; but I feel for my former coworkers. I don't like leaving negative comments, but I wanted to give the most transparent review without being "gossip-y," so to speak.
