Pros

The people are fantastic. We have a great mixture of ages, we have some great humor filled people. No dull zoom conferences where you want to poke your eyes out or town halls where you can play buzz word bingo. You are challenged -- you are able to do things. You aren't hampered by ridiculous levels of bureaucrazy (intentional spelling). 9/80 is great. Education Reimbursement. You are limited by you. What do you want to achieve? What could you achieve if you opened your imagination? If you are driving your spouse crazy or if inflation wasn't in your budgeting for retirement come back for a while. You know you still have creativity that is untapped.

Cons

Sometimes the name recognition isn't as well-known as say, Honeywell, but in the industry, the customers and the employees know who is good and who is better. When you ask someone about a company, look to see if they say a name and then roll their eyes or don't look you directly in the eyes. Or, say something like, "it was a learning experience". Universal is growing, the people are great and you are only limited by your desire to learn, grow, and step up. This is a place where your future is limited by you, not by whether or not you go golfing with your 2nd line manager (like some places).

Pros

Knowledgeable and friendly coworkers. Some of the managers appreciate your contributions.

Cons

Upper management feels disconnected from the workers. Benefits eroding that enticed talent to stay. Hybrid schedule is dwindled down to 1 day in a 9/80 schedule. Health insurance was ok when they covered almost 60$ of it for healthy habits. HR seems to be not willing to help or aid when issues with benefits is pointed out, like insurance not paying for procedures. They will gladly tell you to call the affiliated company that negotiates the bills instead of having an internal person that can help you. Upper management can at times sound like they are not trusting the technical staffers to accomplish their jobs. Predominantly seems to be a cultural barrier due to its predominantly being dished out by a particular group of individuals. Literally heard multiple times a upper manager/chief/staff professional verbally belittle or beat down an fellow coworker. Carrier progression is very slow, the expectation is that you work at a higher level job description for 1 or more years before you get the pay and level promotion.
