Pros
Unfortunately as of late the only Pro is that the old Nexeo long timers are banding together like foot soldiers to make sure what we have built from basically nothing in 8 years doesn't get destroyed by Univar.
Cons
So many to count. Great culture prior to Univar acquisition. It is unfortunate because the CEO seems genuinely wanting to change the culture and says he wants the best of best for everything. Well at least that is what he goes around the world communicating at our town halls. Unfortunately who is making the real decisions thinks this concept is "subjective". All we have seen is Univar picking off the best of the best one by one in lieu of the pet favorites. They also have a terribly disloyal company from upper management to the employees and that has caused employees to follow suit. The brain children and roots are slowly dying. In a place like a Houston and the talent Nexeo demanded will soon all leave one way or the other and there will only be the left are not capable of a job or those that just simply don't care and are just there to collect a paycheck. Univar bought Nexeo to use its platform and processes and the well designed work flows and systems. Unfortunately most of what was integrated to make Nexeo a well oiled machine is being slowly pull on like a thread to an old sweater. Soon there wont be but a big pile of nothing. It is sad that their resistance to change will ultimately be the demise of the company. The CEO is being given very poor guidance from his second in line or he is turning a blind eye which I hope the latter is not the case. Because that means he is not being truthful to employees. I hope he takes heed because the Nexeo folks are about to wave the flag and send the troops elsewhere.
