Pros

United Rentals prioritizes a safe workplace and a safe culture all across the board. Most employees treat you like family and everyone has always been very personable with one another. There are opportunities for growth if you're hungry for it. There are opportunities for travel. Very great place to work for if you're looking to work with an engaging team. Fast paced settings for those looking for a challenge.

Cons

Leadership quality varies from branch to branch. You may work for a great manager at one place, but get a poor manager if you transfer to a different location. All training is 'Trial by fire', so don't expect any sort of 'structured' form of training unless you're taking a certification course like forklift training or something similar if you're applying with 0 experience in the rental industry.

Pros

Excellent benefits and a plethora of tools ans support. Company truck for sales reps at $75 per pay period. It’s a very well known company so you get a lot of business from national accounts. If you can get your foot in the door, it’s an experience that’s worth it. No regrets.

Cons

Due to their size and like so many publicly traded companies, there is a huge disconnect on the expectations. My manager did his best but you could tell his bosses were asking for unachievable results. My sales manager was clueless at her role and no sales experience to lead a team. Things she would ask from us were counter productive. Not anything I couldn’t deal with.
