Pros
good pay for the skill required good insurance but kind of pricey unionize but old school seniority based easy work
Cons
The managers have no people skills and are full of excuses. They are plenty of good ideas but they would rather do things backwards. The shop is very disorganized. There are more employees who would rather spend the day trying to screw each other over than working together or doing any work at all. It is a 24/7 work environment so you will have to work every weekend and be off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Everything is seniority based so time and new hires are the only ways to get a better job. There are never any parts and are just now getting tools. Vacation and paid time off are minimal compared to other companies. I'm not sure how the company makes any money. Railroad jobs are not as glamorous as they seem.
