Pros
Their catchphrases: 1. “We need good people” 2. “We embrace innovation” 3. “We have integrity and ethical values” 4. “Executive management holds themselves accountable from employee surveys”.
Cons
What their catchphrases actually mean: 1. We need cheap labor that is good enough. We usually promote people that are in Arkansas and the South since the cost of living is cheaper. 2. We embrace the idea of innovation but IT leadership will probably say no since “we are so busy with anything else”. 3. We have integrity and ethical values unless you are not cheap labor (see #1). In this case, we will try or ask you to quit. If you don’t quit, then we will “performance manage” you out. We will never lay you off because that would mean we actually pay severance. Oh, and because you will be technically “fired” we 100% will contest unemployment. 4. Executives hold ourselves accountable if the employee surveys are positive toward us. If they are not, we will lecture middle management because they obviously are not representing us or the company well to employees.
