Pros
GateHouse Live gets it right with the things that matter most: compensation, work/life balance, and camaraderie. It's a relatively small company, so everyone works very closely with each other, which can be a nightmare if you don't like the people you work with. Fortunately, the entire team is down-to-earth and easy to work with, including upper management. Ideas and contributions are not only welcome, but actively encouraged. The work environment is very collaborative, which makes it feel more like a startup than a division of a multi-billion dollar media company.
There are also a ton of advancement opportunities as the company is expanding quickly by acquiring other event companies and launching new brands.
Cons
In all honesty, I don't have any complaints at this point. The only thing that's not ideal is the fact that the team isn't currently located in a central office, but instead is spread throughout several states, which sometimes slows down communication and collaboration. It's not actually an issue of any significance, but I had to put something here...
