Pros

Great for someone with limited options (college, trade, family connections) out of high school or needs a little structure. Like anything in life it is what you make of it. I know sailors that were CTT/CTRs that did the full 20 and I know a few that were like me that got out before 10 and did extremely well with their lives making $250K/year plus.

Cons

Hours, pay, Uncle Sam owns you for the length of the contract

Pros

- Area does not everything you want, but has everything you need -Great for autonomous command, developing cross-functional team skills, and collaborating across multiple organizations

Cons

-Seems like a remote duty location when it comes to resources, assets, and manpower

Pros

It is what you make out of it. You'll have good days and bad days. It's all dependent on your leadership. That can make or break the command. Medical is free, but can take a while to get seen. You'll meet a lot of new people and could travel around the world depending on your duty station. Education benefits and training.

Cons

Medical can take a while to get seen, unless it's an emergency. If you're single, the pay isn't that great, but you don't have to much to worry about for bills if you live on base. If you're on sea duty billet, your work life balance will be terrible.
