Pros
There are some very kind and approachable people in the business, some robust and very effective people policies that serve to make you feel well looked after. The office tends to empty at 5pm so work life balance is excellent. Fantastic work going on to further understanding of diversity and inclusiveness, one of the areas that the business seems really ahead of the curve. There's a great commitment to training courses If you get the right line manager, you could enjoy your time here.
Cons
Long tenure has meant that the culture is very old fashioned. The offices and buildings are shabby and uninspiring - everything is brown. Also due to the long tenure there aren't many people that have come from other companies, people are very insular. People are scared to mention when they are working from home. Many managers don't allow it. Backwards culture in this regard - very carrot and sticks. Outputs over outcomes. A lot of tactical things that miss the mark because the strategic wasn't in place. Frustrating environment. Induction experience was pretty poor - intranet screams low budget
