      Pros

      Great research culture with lots of opportunities for collaborative projects. Lab environment depends a lot on the PI that runs the lab, but most at UCLA seem reasonable and likable.

      Cons

      Horrible traffic, compounded by the constant construction near campus. High rent and low wages lead to difficult financial situations.

      Pros

      Great health insurance - I'm told it's really quite fire (no lie) Great location - love Westwood (sandwiched by Brentwood, Bel Air, and Beverly Hills) Union is tremendously supportive

      Campus dining options are kinda weak - breaks my heart to eat the same thing every day

      Working with students is satisfying and fulfilling. It also helps yourself retain information you have learned from past courses.

      Cons

      The Peer Learning Unit is poorly managed, and it is difficult to communicate with your supervisors.
