Pros

Positives: flexible start and finish times, a “do your job and leave” approach, friendly colleagues (despite the toxic environment), and reliable pay.

Cons

I worked in the sales department at U Value and it was a negative experience from start to finish. The leadership style from upper management was hostile and controlling, with staff regularly spoken to in an aggressive manner. Morale was extremely low, staff turnover was constant, and there was a culture of fear and blame. Communication from management was almost non-existent. Operational changes, new hires, and departures were rarely announced, leaving staff disengaged and disconnected. Most decisions were made at the last minute in response to the latest crisis and staff were frequently asked to do work beyond their job description, creating chaos and unnecessary stress. Sales management had no clear plan, only reacting to stock shortages or changes in staffing. Targets were increased arbitrarily and there was little interest in developing the team or the business. No proper training or onboarding was provided, so new hires often left within weeks. Company culture began and ended with the occasional free pizza. While some departments worked well independently, the sales department was disorganised, poorly led, and demoralising to work in. If you value your career progression and mental health, I would recommend avoiding the sales department at U Value.
