Pros

Still A Great Concept Stephen Entwistle

Cons

They say there whole ethos is make people happy. This is only for show and once you dive further into the company, you realise this is not what they are about, they are just trying to portray this and they don't look after staff. This was not always the case might I add! The Manager Director/CEO has no empathy or people skills and will have no contact with any staff at site, this is normal from someone at this level. What is not normal is when he sees something majorly wrong or someone makes a mistake within the site, then every now and again it results in an email. This can consist of the following things: - Always states how bad you are at your job. - Can insult you. - Can be discriminating, race, age, sex etc. - Questioning you about your future within the company and telling you to think about being in the company. - Implying that we will get rid of you. They have a great work ethic of always hiring someone for a position that has someone in it, then they already have someone to replace them once they push the other person out. The work/life balance is no existent mostly because of there high staff turnover. They cannot keep hold of managers due to their ethics and ethos. Most sites are short by one manager if not two. They do not advertise all the jobs they have as it looks bad on them, there reputation as an employer is getting worse by the day, this is just from speaking to some recruitment companies about how managers have found there experience within Turtle Bay. An insight into staff turnover: -9 Area/Ops Managers in my time there(34 months), that is one every 4 months. - In the last 8 months at least 18 GM's have gone that I can think of, that is half there sites. As the company is short of management in many sites, this means no support is provided if needed, therefore some managers doing 70 hours a week consistently for 6 months and only getting paid for 52. Industry standard is 48 hours but Turtle Bay like to get and extra 4 hours out of you a week as a manager. Apart from the management shortage expect to work like a donkey, as there ethos is Turtle Bay is your life once you join them, they don't say this but they act like it.
