Product leadership lacks the ability to not only formulate a vision, but they also seem to be incapable of communicating their plans to those they work with. For example, there is no established process of creating or sharing out product roadmaps, and yet we continue to hire more and more product managers seemingly week by week. We need to be allocating resourcing to hiring more engineers, not product managers! There are individuals who hold positions of power on the product management leadership team who should absolutely not be there, and yet they're getting promoted... There are SOME great product managers, but they can only be so good when the direction their given is subpar. Then there are others who I question how they even got hired. To say that product management leadership is mediocre would be a compliment.
No place is perfect, and there's so much good about the company, but what's going on within product management across the business units (esp Ting) doesn't make much sense.
Oh and there is no such thing as pay transparency here which is just backwards.
