Pros
Excellent people. Dog friendly. Standing desks. Good employee discount? Great place to start building your resume if you're cool with little pay and max responsibilities (which you definitely are if you're straight out of college because you don't know any better).
Cons
No one knows what they're doing. Same mistakes are made over and over again because there are no training materials or protocols but rather very loose "best practices". Protecting margins and cost are the ultimate priorities and you are essentially disposable. They will try to sell you on the "culture" which is "WORK HARDER.." They like to make you feel like you're a part of something big like you're getting in at the bottom level of a start up when the company has actually been around for 12 years and is still a mess. Inefficient and counter-intuitive CRM/Order/accounting/inventory software seems to make even the simplest of tasks feel like a computer science final. Incredibly skewed salaries across the board. If they can get away with paying you $25k a year they will. Ownership is notorious for retroactively changing commissions, shorting you money, ignoring you when you ask for a raise or bring up ANYTHING about money and give you zero tools you need to actually hit your goal or a career path if you are hitting your goal. No middle management. If you drink the kool-aid you could be made lead, which generally means all the responsibilities of management, no authority to execute any decisions of your own and a 2% raise on your salary! One time I asked for a raise based on my performance, dedication and new roll and when I countered their offer one of the owner's responses was "Well it's not like you're ever going to make as much money as (insert male manager name here)." it took me a few days to digest that it was actually blatant discrimination. You get to work in a dirty office with less than one foot of space in between you and your desk mate. The building is really nice and big, but all the nicest parts of the building are used as an event space for Fremont Foundry events. Tableau often rents the space out for their "sales bootcamps" and sometimes it's so loud that you reap the benefits of Tableau sales training (Have they done this on purpose to get away with not training their own sales staff? Now that i type this it's all really coming together! SOMEONE TELL TABLEAU!). There aren't enough bathrooms for employees. You must find your own street parking and unless you pay you have to move your car every 2 hours. You only get 30 mins for lunch and even if you eat at your computer every single day and go to take an hour lunch, people freak out because of "phone coverage." Ownership decided to acquire a competitor that was going out of business this year to add to the family of brands and no one understands what's going on with that because they're in a different part of the country and there is zero transparency so customers are ultra confused. Everything is made in China and is a straight knock off of every cool innovative company that's actually doing things right and pioneering their own way. Not to mention questionable ethics when it comes to choosing vendors overseas (again, margin is the ultimate concern). Essentially, you are peddling trash and contributing to everything that is wrong with America.
