Trident University Response

Thank you for the work you did while at Trident. As one of the lowest priced WASC regionally accredited Universities, salary increases can be a challenge. Still, valuing our colleagues and treating them with respect is a key part of our core values (https://www.trident.edu/why-trident/values/. We’ve listened to feedback and conducted internal assessments to help make great strides in improving customer service and other process issues at Trident. That said, we welcome suggestions for improving the overall experience of our students and employees. If you’d like to discuss your concerns further, please contact me, Melissa Rothmeyer, Vice President of Human Resources at melissa.rothmeyer@trident.edu or 714-816-0366 (ext. 2585). Thanks for sharing your thoughts and all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Nothing, nada, zip, zilch, not a one

Cons

I've been adjuncting for a good 20 years now for a wide variety of colleges and universities and this place is THE worst. First, you'll be lucky if your classes have more than a couple of students in them. Then you'll spend 8 weeks with those two students and making $100/student even if you have a Ph.D. and that pay is spread out over several paychecks. I have extra federal taxes taken out of my paychecks, so there were times where I didn't even get a paycheck, because the gross was so low. Second, they act like you are a full-time employee making you attend mandatory day-time (9-5) meetings. Third, my last paycheck was delayed by over a week due to a "mistake" in their system. ....and when I dared to question them about it, they fired me. Can you say Civil Rights violation (retaliation)? Avoid like the plague. It's not worth the amount of time they expect you to put in for the pay you may or may not receive.
