Pros

Amazing network of UX professionals that has grown over the last few years Good work life-balance. At the end of the day I can close my computer and not worry about work. Stability and job security through even the most difficult times

Cons

"Pixie dust" ?.. being forced back into the office after the most successful eight quarters for the company not only financially but also with productivity and delivery of work Leans heavily on "great benefits" such as pension where as bonus and raises rarely meet or exceed inflation - even with promotions. Only way to get a decent salary bump is to leave the company or switch teams or departments Has great culture and values at face value but when it comes down to truly investing in employees it falls short

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
