I was working in Belgrade, Serbia. On my project, we were never allowed to take a vacation leave between the 5th and the 15th of every month. And on the rest of the month, you can take it, If many of your colleagues didn't already take vacation leave. Also holidays are not free. They are double paid, but you can't leave and spend the day with the family.
They schedule you a 30 minutes lunch break, so you have it already planned in your calendar and you can't go to eat, when you are hungry, but when they planned it for you. In addition there is 8 minutes of break that you can take whenever you want.
When they received bad pulse survey results, the director of Belgrade office invited us to meeting, to see why we are not satisfied. His answer was most of the time "take it or leave it" and that we should find another job if we don't like it here, no one is keeping us there.
When we asked why there is not a promotion to someone who has been there for years, or if there is, for example going from Customer Support to Social Media Moderator, it is without a salary increase, he said that we also don't get money in school for an A, and that we should be thankful that we have an opportunity to learn new stuff that we can add to the CV.
They created something like training programs for a new positions. So that you can learn and work for something where they need somebody, it lasts for 9 or 12 months. Of course, without salary increase. They tell you that they could keep you on that position after that period. As long as I was there, no one was kept. After 9 months of doing double job (your position and also the one you are trained for), they tell you that they don't need someone at the moment, and they start the training again, so that now new person could do the job they need, without actually employing and paying someone to do it.
All that for miserable payment.
