Pros

Employees all work hard, are brilliant, really care about the work they are doing, and give it their all You get to work on products that matter and will actually help people You will learn a lot No two days are the same Good benefits (health, vision, dental, 401Kmatch, equity... ) Flexible schedule, work from anywhere in the US

Cons

It's really hard! There is the inherent startup risk. At least for now, the company relies on NIH funding, which makes things pretty uncertain. Live collaboration takes A LOT of time. Wish there was more PTO

Pros

Intellectual and creative freedom, big dreams, ambitious execution, and a rewarding mission. Amazing teammates with outrageous talent. The research and engineering teams are especially strong. Leadership has a big vision.

Cons

Not everyone likes a high-intensity atmosphere. Low performers are fired, even moderately good performers are PIP'ed. Only high performers are rewarded. Make sure you are happy to meet a high bar.

Pros

- Right Mission(s), but wrong execution. - Amazingly dedicated team who desperately wants to make it work but is squashed in their attempts, so morale tends to dive quickly for most.

Cons

- Ask how high the employee turnover rate is!! If the response isn’t at least 60% , they are fudging numbers and it is not due to the employees’ skills nor performance, but rather work environment. - Wrong Execution for Right Mission(s). - No focus on specific product or initiative for a long enough time to make an impact. - Please don't offer a conflicting opinion out loud as that will not go over well. - Criticizing team members in public situations will not garner confidence. Turnover rate is astronomical - ask about the % - ask again.
