Pros

Being overworked and underpaid gives you great motivation to find another position where you’re valued and compensated appropriately.

Cons

I would not recommend working at TI to anyone. Not only was I grossly underpaid during my time there but I also witnessed some of the most underhanded and entitled behavior by the new management following the retirement of the founders. People who have been there since the beginning of TI are leaving because of all the office politics, the lack of any financial incentive, and the way that the company is treating their most tenured employees. The company claims that compensation is confidential and threatens termination if discussed between employees; what they don’t want you to know is that someone doing the same job and who has been with the company for much longer can make significantly less than a new hire. Or that if you leave the company even a day before the end of the year, they won’t give you the 10% bonus that you EARNED and would get if you stayed there the extra day, but they don’t tell you that until after the fact. Don’t believe the diversity they display on their website, the company didn’t even offer same-sex spousal benefits until 2021. Management is made up of older white men who have very little empathy or desire to understand what their employees truly need, aside from ensuring their productivity/profit goals are met. The most recent 5 star reviews are disingenuous and the responses are nothing more than an attempt to save face; if only they put that much energy into ensuring appropriate compensation and resource management.

We’ve got room for improvement for sure, and naturally, I’m sorry to read you were disappointed while employed here. As I’ve stated in other posts, we are hiring the most people in one calendar year that we’ve ever hired, and we definitely are addressing the need to relieve the load of any person that has too much on their plate on a consistent basis. As far as pay, we have never failed to give our people pay raises, promotions, equity adjustments, etc. when earned and/or needed. We are consistently researching where our employees’ compensation stands relative to their skillset, responsibility, education, and overall hustle. We have also NEVER failed to reward our teammates at the end of the year with a discretionary bonus even when we didn’t make plan. Pay is important. Our employees’ lives are much bigger than TransImpact. We know that and we believe it. That’s why employees are the number 1 topic we discuss month after month. From the remote work policy to Covid safety (at the time), culture committee, IMPACT1, etc., we talk about what’s most important, and that’s you. I can’t make you believe that, but it’s true. We recently sent out a survey asking about the preferred remote work policy and the bonus structure. The actions we are taking this month are directly related to employee feedback. Sincerely, Berkley Stafford, CEO

Pros

Strong company culture. Business has a growth mindset and strategy aiming to be a dominant player in Supply Chain and Logistics technology. Lots of competent talent hired to shape product leveraging AI and growing the business through sales, marketing, client success and channel. The people are great across multiple functions. The business strongly supports community involvement and volunteering.

Cons

The evolution of the business and changes can be hard for some to understand their connection to the long-term vision and plan.

Pros

Coworkers were fantastic. They were supportive, talented, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Strong team camaraderie made the day-to-day experience positive. Many individuals truly cared about the work and wanted to help the company succeed.

Cons

Pay was below the current market rate for developers. Leadership prided themselves on making rapid changes, which led to systems, priorities, and workflows shifting with little to no warning. These abrupt pivots caused significant rework and made long-term planning difficult. A growing blame culture emerged, where issues were sometimes placed on individuals instead of examining broader process or leadership problems. Communication from upper management was inconsistent. Growth opportunities were limited unless you specifically wanted to move into management, which made career progression difficult for technical contributors.
