Pros
Trace3 is a fast paced company with a strong focus on applying technology to solve modern business problems. Trace3 does not shy away from the bleeding edge while also appreciating and applying a strong foundation in proven technologies that continue to support our customer's needs. There is a sense of family throughout the company, which is remarkable given our size and growth. No business is perfect but I would argue there is more positives than negatives on any given day working for this technology-focused company. I believe I am well compensated for my contribution and feel part of a bigger cause than my corner of the world. Finally, we have some of the best thought leaders in the industry, which makes us a source of authority and trusted advisor to our customers. That's priceless.
Cons
Growth and comfort are often mutually exclusive. Trace3 is a growing company, which means there are sure to be bumps (and casualties) along the way. The biggest chasm is between sales and engineering. That gap often creates friction that ripples outward to everyone and creates a lot of frustration. I would also argue we could leverage technology better considering we are a technology company. Some of our backend systems seem archaic when you take into account newer technologies available. It seems like we try to force fit business into technology rather than use technology to accommodate our business. I am a firm believer in working smarter, not harder - we should eat our own dog food and use the best technology for the job, even if that means going off the beaten path once in a while.
