Pros
-Laid back appearance -Hybrid office/field -Competent Training -Good about approving time off
Cons
-Asked to do blatantly dangerous and OSHA-violating work on several occasions. Life insurance policy is laughable -No advancement opportunities until people ahead of you retire/quit -Unwilling to give raises for performance outside of standard review period. -Low pay for engineering graduate. Very low when considering hourly breakdown without overtime -Pressured to work more than 40 hours every week with no overtime pay. Typically 60 hour weeks -Rewarded for doing a good job with more work -Disconnected management to employee relationship -Extraordinarily poor "bonus." -Expect contact and work while on vacation -Job description/interview severely understates responsibilities and expectations -Repeatedly asked to give more, more, more -Travel 3-4 weeks per month -Share hotel rooms -Company owned by ~10 Upper-level management people and a holding company who keep all profits, if any -Retirement/Insurance/Benefits/Pay are all below industry average ---Bottom line, Poor opportunities/compensation, dangerous work environment, gas-lighting and disconnected management, no rewards. Not a great time.
