Pros
free membership and cool people
Cons
Management is out of touch and cannot communicate even simple things effectively. an emphasis on not being corporate, but all big decisions are made by corporate. The pay is incredibly low, not even close to livable. Almost all employees have a second job or a partner with a second income. there are no health benefits for part time employees and pretty much no growth opportunities. The company is mostly focused on opening more gyms than creating a sustainable company culture or paying a livable wage. (while also continually raising member rates!!) They cut corners all over the place to "save money" and put more responsibilities on staff with no increases in pay or benefits, and then wonder why they have so much staff turnover. Touchstone is also incredibly anti-union and have engaged in union-busting tactics.
