Pros

You get to hang out at a climbing gym all day. This is a big plus. Discounts, free membership, moderately flexible, standard outdoor industry perks.

Cons

There are very serious culture problems at Touchstone. Complaints of sexual harassment have resulted in both complete inaction and firing. When an employee has problems with management style or lack thereof, I have witnessed 3 employees be let go rather than any changes be made or understanding reached. Senior management is incredibly hit or miss, with the peter principle in full effect; there is an inadequate definition of roles for anything above a gym manager which creates a sense of resentment at many levels and open discussion of promotion as a result of inadequacy or indifference.

Pros

- coworkers are all pretty chill, patrons can be friendly

Cons

- some patrons can be confrontational due to their massive ego - despite having a union vote across 4 gyms, touchstone is appealing the NLRB decision and attempting to prevent us from organizing. They've engaged in unethical ethical labor practices, refuse to meet at the bargaining table, and union busting practices.
