Total has been in business for 29+ years. At Total, we have “team players” that have been employed for less than one year and others that have been employed for 15+ years. It is Total’s mindset that a “team player” is someone who works well with others and is devoted to providing superior customer service, at all times. Part of this is fostered by the culture of comradery that is established while working on our tight-knit team. Technical ability and willingness to learn are required attributes at Total. The IT service industry is always changing and requires motivated individuals who enjoy learning new technologies in order to provide superior service to clients. Generally, like most companies, when Total hires someone new, he/she gets shift placement based on seniority. The shift that one is hired for is the shift that he/she is expected to work until another shift becomes available. Working one’s shift is imperative in this industry as Total is in the service business and our clients pay us for the coverage across all shifts. Overtime is paid by Total for every entitled employee each and every time it occurs as it is New York State law. At Total, no one has ever been written up for putting in overtime, nor has anyone ever been written up for requesting a different shift; not in 29+ years of business.
Personally, as President & CEO of Total, I take tremendous pride in taking care of my team but I do expect an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay.
