Although customers get a great experience, employees do not. The owner is verbally and emotionally abusive. She is constantly screaming at someone. Even if that someone is not you at that moment, the amount of tension in the office is palpable. Employees are cruelly reprimanded or mocked for the most ridiculous of reasons, many of them having nothing to do with job performance. The owner comes up with new "motivation" ideas on practically a monthly basis, forces everyone to jump through a bunch of hoops, and a few weeks later, forgets about the idea and moves on to the next thing. The owner's political and religious views come into play often, and no one dares to publicly disagree with her. She says things like "I would never let my child have a gay teacher" or "I don't want to hire this gay person, do I have to come up with another reason or can I just not hire him because of that"? She would force employees to come to mandatory meetings, thinking if she provided food, then it was ok not to pay employees to be there. Basically you have an owner that, deep down, has a very giving heart, but is so unbalanced that you never know what you are going to get.
