Pros
Let me start with saying that people will always be quicker to leave bad reviews than good ones - personally I felt that the reasons in the previous review didn’t warrant such a low score and whilst there were some good points (and the review was largely positive) their main points were talking about a previous co-worker rather than the actual business itself, or how well they did in the role. My experience was completely different - I worked at torii for nearly 3 years and had some of the best times in my career. I was amazed at the way the business could operate at a level seemingly far beyond their means, and there was nothing too big for them to cope with. Again this comes from the leadership, the ambition and the drive of the owner. You will struggle to find a place to work that offers so much to the individual, both from a work life balance perspective but also the earning potential.
Cons
The flexibility that you get in this place can turn into a sink or swim environment. Although this may have changed now. But this is quite standard for the industry. You’re afforded the flexibility to go after anything you want and your pains, distastes, and weaknesses in the role are really listened to. So if you desire to be in a role with little to no BD - that’s what you’ll get - but then don’t complain about the BD... If you’re after a role with lots of autonomy, room to grow, excellent remuneration packages, and to learn understanding of how to actually run a business... you can’t get much better than this.
