Friendly and creative people - Data Scientist TopYaps Employee Review

Most genuine, progressive and easy-going company. By easy-going, my stress would be on the management which allows each individual, their right to showcase talent and also suggestibility to make the company grow. This is only possible when the top management allows the freedom of expression and work as a unit in a friendly, yet professional ambiance. In the ever progressive and changing world of Social Media, this company seems to have the knack to reach its goals, with every member working here diligently (even while some are allowed to manage their capabilities from home). The culture of interaction at each level with the seniors and those working in different departments makes it an interactive office, where ideas constantly grow and succeed. The top management in particular, must be congratulated for the freedom and trust they have bestowed on their team, without which the people won't be as creative and easy to work with. The company has the right potential to remain on the top and has proved its worth with excellent articles (trending/news/entertainment etc) which are rightly chosen by the editors. The language skills and flow of thoughts are easy for the common man to understand, thus making it a favourite in the industry.

There are no pros to working here.

Topyaps is a terrible terrible place for anyone with a professional work ethic. It is also an especially horrible workplace for women. The IITians who run the company are unprofessional, lecherous, chauvinists who make it impossible for people to do their jobs. The only people who could ever have something nice to say about topyaps are the men (yup, just the men) who have made it their life's ambition to lick the management's behinds. So, if you're a man and you're "friendly" with the bosses, you've got it made. If you're a woman, you'll be overworked and underpaid and you'll be subjected to random sexual advances and/or sexist attitude (at the hands of any or all of the IITians who run the joint) to boot. There's also the fact that they don't pay enough to begin with and they tend to fire people whenever someone is up for an appraisal. Because they believe it's better to keep hiring new people and pay them a pittance instead of giving a well-deserved raise to someone who has loyally worked for the company for years. Oh, and their appraisals are not annual. They don't give a raise for as long as three years. Actually, only the bosses (and their faithful lapdogs) get a raise. Everyone else gets the boot.
