Pros
- 50% off Estée Lauder brands including Mac, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford etc - Very inclusive of all back grounds and extremely welcoming to all ages/experiences. - If in a department store, can benefit from the department stores employee discount also - Nice colleagues & management are great communicators - Tom Ford is actually a nice brand, comparative to competitors - Always some commission to be made if in London. - Free gift(s) at training sessions every half annum & free gifts from the brand once in a blue moon.
Cons
- Rule number 1 of sales job, everyone from your side, top and bottom, are sales people. - Pay is below most competitors, unless you’ve been with the brand for a significant amount of time, then the pay is industry average. - The non-monetary benefits might be good but employees require more monetary incentives in a highly competitive industry to stay. - Labour turn over is higher than most & retention rate is not that low relative to other competitors. - The story telling of fragrances lack authenticity from Tom Ford himself, and seems to be more the marketing teams running the launch campaigns. - Targets are unrealistic and lack connectivity to the exogenous environments & seasonality. - The CRM system can be challenging when new launches do not align with client preferences - We have only achieved double commission for the counter hitting target once, through my entire span of being with the firm. Prior to my arrival, my colleagues infrequently saw it either.
