Pros

Strong onboarding experience and very supportive team. Amy was especially helpful, responsive, and proactive in making sure I had what I needed to succeed. I was able to get up and running quickly and had a client base by the end of my first 30 days. The platform is easy to navigate overall, and the flexibility and variety of work are big positives.

Cons

While no system is perfect, there are a few areas within the platform that could be more streamlined to improve efficiency and workflow. Some tasks require a bit of extra manual work that could likely be simplified with small system updates.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It’s fantastic to hear that you had a strong start and felt well supported throughout your onboarding experience - I’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Amy as well. We’re also really pleased to hear you got up and running within your first 30 days - that's great! I also appreciate the balanced and constructive feedback you’ve shared around workflows, communication, and areas where the platform could be streamlined further. While these are areas we're actively working on improving, I’d welcome the opportunity to hear more about your suggestions and experience in more detail - particularly around the areas that feel more manual or repetitive from your side. If you’d be open to it, please feel free to reach out to me directly at louiseclarke@timeetcteam.com - I’d be very happy to continue the conversation further with you. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, and we wish you continued success with your clients! Louise, Assistant Experience Manager

Pros

Supportive and well-organized onboarding experience. My onboarding manager, Amy W., was responsive, encouraging, and did a great job clearly explaining expectations and answering questions. Regular check-ins made the transition feel smooth, and I always felt comfortable reaching out for guidance. Overall, a very positive introduction to the company.

Cons

No major downsides during onboarding. As with any new role, there’s a learning curve at the beginning, but the support provided made it very manageable.

Pros

Good company culture, support, wide variety of client opportunities - easy to get clients. The flexibility is really nice.

Cons

The pay is pretty low for my area. I make under minimum wage, and the only way to increase that is if the client chooses to stay. Potentially, for you to reach the maximum earnings that client would have to be with Time Etc for 6-7 years, and that's just not realistic. Even just to get minimum wage, I would have to wait 7-8 months and barely see a raise at all. I am sure that if you live in a state with a much lower cost of living, the hourly wage would be a wonderful boon - but here it's laughably low. It also feels like a marketing scheme to promise a certain pay if you stay with a client long enough, knowing that most clients don't stay long enough for the assistant to ever see that fee increase. Some of the work I do (marketing, website building, business coaching, managing up) is laughable at $17/hr, especially knowing that the client is paying much more than that per hour to Time Etc. Covering my own insurance/benefits/expenses, and the higher tax rate for being self-employed, means that my hourly rate is significantly less than minimum wage. While Time Etc does eat some of the costs of getting clients, they don't eat the cost of being a freelancer - which kind of evens it out (especially when experienced professionals are providing the services that we do). Time Etc. wouldn't exist without qualified assistants to connect their clients to, and our pay needs to reflect that.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We're thrilled to see your 4-star ratings for our work/life balance, culture and values, senior management, and diversity and inclusion, and it’s wonderful to hear that you enjoy the flexibility and the variety of client opportunities available to you. We also appreciate your candid feedback regarding our pay structure and how the self-employed model impacts assistants in higher cost-of-living states. Time etc is designed to work alongside you to make it easier, safer, and faster to earn money as a freelance Virtual Assistant. Our goal is to take care of all the difficult, non-billable parts of running a freelance business - like marketing to find clients, managing invoices, guaranteeing your payments, and stepping in with replacement clients if one cancels. Because we handle these overhead operations, we retain a share of the fees paid by the client. Regarding our tenure-based increases, we completely understand your point, but promise this is definitely not a marketing scheme! We have many assistants within our community who have successfully supported the exact same client for over 10 years. Because long-term stability is so valuable to our clients, our pay structure is genuinely designed to reward the successful, lasting relationships built on both sides. That being said, we never want you to feel that your high-level skills - like website building and marketing strategy - are being undervalued. Your feedback about state-by-state rate adjustments is a very interesting point, and one that we will absolutely reflect on as things evolve. In the meantime, I would love the opportunity to look into this for you. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at louiseclarke@timeetcteam.com. I would be more than happy to personally review your current client accounts and see what flexibility we might be able to offer regarding your rates. Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback here, and I hope to hear from you soon to continue our conversation directly. Thanks, Louise, Assistant Experience Manager
