Pros
-full Apple suite of technology
-start up office environment
-access to resources and software
-smart and innovative employees/coworkers (this is the best part!)
-great stepping stone for career changes
-fast-paced work environment
-opportunity to travel
Cons
-high turnover
-overwork employees (claim that they will help you by teaching strategies to help perform your best at home and work. when it comes down to what matters, they expect work to always take priority over personal life)
-inexperienced management makes it more challenging to move projects forward
-company does not practice what they preach and sell to clients
-focus more on developing employees' weaknesses rather than building upon their strengths (good for becoming a generalist in a small company, but it's bad for honing in your skillset. This makes it challenging to leave the company because employees are usually trained at the surface level without opportunity to dive deeper into projects.)
-start up culture despite being around for 15 years means long hours with less competitive pay
-short fuses are a common trait at c-suite level
-lack of HR resulted in benefits changing and unresolved HR reports
The biggest con is that the environment is cult-like. The idea is that coworkers are your family and that you should always please executive level, regardless of your boundaries ethically, physically, and emotionally. Boundaries do not exist here. Executive/c-suite level frequently reminds employees that they are so generous to provide benefits, but the benefits are not competitive with employers of similar size and net worth. Executive/c-suite level and upper management are manipulative towards their employees. (example: crying at work was perceived as deeply caring about your job; lack of crying in difficult meetings was perceived as not taking the meeting seriously)
I do hope this environment changes because they have some of the most intelligent and innovative employees. I quit and have since realized how bad the work culture is here. I am writing this honest review to help people looking to work here.
