Pros
TiER1 Performance offers many of the things I value most at this stage in my career: trust in my abilities, flexibility, ownership (we're an ESOP!), connectivity, the freedom to try new things (and occasionally fail, learn, and try again), a non-hierarchical structure that values autonomy and authority based on the role(s) we're asked to step into, amazing people, appreciation of my whole self, a willingness to continually evolve to best meet our clients where they are, broad-based benefits, and a business that is managed in a financially sound way for the long-term, with transparency about our financial status and what's required for us to be successful.
Cons
Consulting is not for everyone. There are (necessary) utilization targets - selling our time is how we continue to exist. There are ebbs and flows in the work, the need to balance priorities and deadlines, being able to navigate client and internal relationships sometimes under tight timelines and shifting expectations... It's different than a 9-5 where you perform similar tasks every week and have consistency in your work and your schedule. You need to be energized by that kind of work (I am!) to thrive in consulting.
