Pros

Thrive definitely had its moment and “glory days” but greedy running of the business, definitely has seen it lose its shine and be overtaken by newer Indi agencies that prioritise people and culture - which in turn results in better outputs, and winning more work. Met some awesome people during my time at Thrive. Thrive is great at talking the talk and getting great talent in the door, but once the honeymoon period is over, the good ones inevitably leave as they aren’t willing to be taken for a ride, and get what they deserve elsewhere. Especially at a senior level - how many office leads has Thrive gone through in Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand over the last year or so?

Cons

Lots of pressure and expectations to literally put Thrive before your own life and family. For a female run business, it is not a good environment for parents - especially the primary care giver. Salaries are very low compared to the exact same roles at other agencies despite what they tell you. Thrive pays at the bottom end of the scale and it’s a fact proven by all of the job offers the team gets and the publicity listed salaries at other agencies. Staff are often given additional responsibilities and made to feel like they should be grateful - and aren’t given one cent more for the additional effort, expectation and pressure that comes with it.

Pros

ThrivePR offers exposure to a very interesting and diverse portfolio of clients across industries, including consumer brands, wellness, automotive, and lifestyle. From global names like LEGO, Johnnie Walker, BYD to emerging brands, there are plenty of opportunities to broaden your knowledge, develop new skills, and work on impactful projects at scale. The agency also provides a flexible hybrid work arrangement and fosters a positive culture where achievements are recognised weekly during agency WIPs. Team members are celebrated during those WIP meetings, and peer-nominated monthly rewards are a great way to acknowledge contributions and make people feel valued.

Cons

As with many fast-paced agencies, priorities can shift quickly depending on client needs, so adaptability and strong time-management skills are important.

Pros

Gained a lot of experiences

Cons

Just sad to be honest really disappointing. After awhile you just felt yourself given to the pressures that be with no real reward. Your work goes unthanked management who have been there for too long of the reason the business is going down the toilet and you know what? Thrive will never get rid of them and that will always be their ultimate downfall. Any great talent that may be had at Thrive is washed away by management who is too old and too stubborn to realise that the world doesn’t revolve around them any longer. It’s media not the ice age. Grow up. Or get lost.
