Pros
Great to work with talented coworkers who go above and beyond, and are experts at what they do. Good benefits, as long as you are not hired into an auxiliary, limited-term position.
Cons
Salaries are not commensurate with the job expectations (least in staff positions). Employer has been quick to lay off those whose duties are actually crucial to some of the university’s operations. Employer also proudly promotes their 35 hour work week even though far more hours are actually expected - you just won’t get paid for it if you’re on salary.
