Given their experience, leadership has little qualification to run a publicly traded company, and it shows. Many at the top were self promoted, as they displayed characteristics that can only be described as an antithesis to the focused, empathetic, and thoughtful leaders that have long left the company. The current leadership jumps between priorities frequently, rushing into and then abandoning half-baked initiatives, all the while citing their "flywheel" diagram as justification (the real flywheel appears to rotate between losing money and performing layoffs). The pinnacle of their managerial excellence has been displayed with 40% of total staff being laid off in under 10 months. It's an amazing feat to be so consistent at being so terrible with growth miscalculations. Rarely does leadership exercise introspection on their actions and will frequently blame external events for their own shortcomings (rising interest rates, war in Ukraine, the overall tech environment); it's embarrassing. The truth is their poor performance was occurring long before these events. They underutilized and placed staff on pointless and fruitless endeavours with little thought, and then act dumbfounded when it made no impact on revenue. Unsurprisingly, those involved with these strategies still remain at the company, seemingly immune to consequence or resignation. Worst of all, there is a consistent softening of language for negative events resulting from their poor decisions, and a sense of them trying to control the narrative, which I found condescending (calling laid off employees Thinkific Alumni, self congratulations on how empathetic they are/making everyone well aware of it, the fake toxic positivity etc). This has been chipping away at employee morale, with no sense of job security for those who remain. Overall, it felt like a poor experience and a waste of time. In my opinion, this company is destined to fail as long as the current leadership is at the helm. So if you're looking to apply, I would skip this third rate company. You deserve better than what this place offers, and your talents can be utilized elsewhere.
