Pros

I learned something new every day I worked there. Management directly above you is okay. They try to keep it light and stress levels low. Family oriented and the other employees are pretty great to work with.

Cons

That being said, there is NO room for growth. There are no different levels of NOC Technician. You will do anything from password changes to direct repairs to servers to on-site client services. The step above you is an engineer. Pay is well below average. You can find a level 1 help desk job that pays more. Owners spend more time out of state than in and tend to try and micromanage from afar. Was let go same day I gave my two weeks notice.

Pros

-there is a strong commitment to training. ( if there is a certification that can be justified, you can probably take a class or get training materials). -the staff are very friendly and plan after work events from time to time. -there are some engineers that are very skilled in specific areas. -lots of opportunities to grow your skills -for a small company there were more opportunities to work with higher end equipment than I would have expected.

Cons

-There isn't a focus on responsibility or ownership of tasks. -All company interviews sound good, but nobody takes them seriously. -with engineers, there seemed to be more of a focus on certifications than talent. -with sales, it seemed that there pay rate was set far too low to get anyone who was good. Of the ones that were good, they did not stick around long. -mileage reimbursement had a cut off that did not make sense when some clients were halfway across the state and a single trip would get you about half way to the cut off. -pay is low in comparison to similar positions elsewhere. -the company focuses primarily on a niche market (novell/suse)
