Pros

The Parish School sits on a beautiful campus that serves some pretty amazing students and families. The school has evolved over the years to accommodate students with a variety of needs. Overall, the staff is loving towards each other, helpful and hard working. The school offers resources to staff and students that would hard to get elsewhere. The school offers students lots of opportunities to explore nature, arts, drama and music.

Cons

Unfortunately, the staff is not equally supported by the HOS. It seems like current admin have no idea how to lead a school. The school seems lost in their mission and is in a state of disarray. Teachers are constantly on high alert out of fear of certain administrators. The school has shifted towards only thinking about profits and money raised. The school will refuse to use funds to support staff events but will send admin on extravagant team building trips. With 95% of admin being SLP’s I often worry that the perspective of teachers is lost upon them. Admin has no idea how difficult it is to work in a classroom and lead a class. Admin is willing to add extra duties to teaching staff and reprimand staff if anyone brings up concerns about workloads.

There is a strong sense of community, and the teamwork among educators, therapists, and support staff ensures that students receive the best possible care and education. The individualized approach to education ensures that each child receives the attention, support, and strategies they need to thrive.
