Pros
None. Just the usual benefits you would get from a bottom-tier NGO.
Cons
The Nature Conservancy (T.N.C) is such a terrible employer, that it should be renamed as Toxic, Nonsensical, Crap —because that’s exactly what you get! T is for Toxic culture, N is for Nonsensical management, and C is for Crappy work that adds little to no value. This is the kind of organization that burns out employees, stifles career growth, and offers nothing substantial in return. If you're looking for a toxic environment with nonsensical leadership and pointless work, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, run. This is one of the most pathetic "non-profits" out there. Very dis-organized and poorly structured, total rubbish and a complete waste of donor funds which are squandered on vanity projects, useless initiatives, and executive perks. This organization should be a RED-FLAG for anyone applying here. You are hereby warned! 1.Toxic Culture-From the moment you step in, you realize that the work environment is fueled by negativity, backstabbing, and favoritism. There is little to no respect for employees, and upper management thrives on micromanagement, gossip, and power trips. HR exists solely to protect leadership, not to support employees. What about their ridiculous core values , like the one they like to flaunt such as "Integrity beyond reproach". This kind of corporate hypocrisy is laughable at best and infuriating at worst. A company with a toxic culture parading around a value like "integrity beyond reproach" is nothing more than a bad joke—empty words meant to manipulate employees and impress outsiders. If leadership actually lived by that value, the culture wouldn’t be toxic in the first place. Instead, it’s just another meaningless slogan slapped onto a wall while unethical behavior, favoritism, and dysfunction run rampant behind the scenes. Nothing worse than corporate nonsense trying to mask a rotten culture! 2.Nonsensical Management-Decisions are made without logic or strategy. Leadership is completely disconnected from the reality of the work being done and operates on knee-jerk reactions rather than thoughtful planning. Most, if not all the senior leaders are complete narcissists, and entitled egocentrics. If you question anything, expect to be ignored—or worse, retaliated against. Don't be fooled by the friendly faces you see on their website. You are soon going to be dis-illusioned with disgust when you meet them in person and realise just how despicable they truly are! 3.Crappy work that adds no value-Most of the tasks assigned feel like busywork rather than meaningful contributions. This organization operates on outdated processes, refuses to innovate, and yet somehow expects employees to "go above and beyond" for absolutely no reward. See the other reasons that make this a very pathetic and horrendous workplace environment! 1. Extremely negative and divisive office politics. 2. Toxic leadership and management. 3. Pretentious and hypocritical leaders and managers. 4. Culture of gossip and slander. 5.Excessive micro-management. 6.Too many reporting authorities. 7. Too many disruptive meetings. 8.Excessive workload , even working on holidays and weekends.
