Pros
Some really intelligent and kind members of staff here. The work can objectively make a difference as well. The 4 day week is a stand out benefit. A majority of frustrated people stay just to keep this benefit
Cons
No real progression plans for engineers. Has been a lot of noise about this, but nothing has happened in the two years I have worked here. The salary can quickly become misaligned. Engineers who just graduated the graduate scheme are consistently paid more than us research engineers who have done our role for years and established a high skill level which comes with our experience. There has been occasions where I had been waiting for a certain role to go to advertisement. Then suddenly someone new is starting in that role and it wasn't advertised. Even more peculiar that the new colleagues are friends or have worked previously with the managers who hired them... Must be a coincidence I'm sure
