Pros
Decent paycheck, remote work if you’re 25 miles away from an office (as in if you draw a straight line from the office to your home. Yeah.)
Cons
I was supposedly hired for my proficiency in coding, and yet I found myself coding less than 10% of the time. Leadership sets impossible and harmful goals, promotes yes people and makes the lives of dissenters who actually have to try to implement their inane ideas miserable. There is next to no quality control. There is next to no planning. You will spend the majority of your time on tasks outside your job description. Management will not listen to any feedback. Software systems and practices are antiquated. Every department and team in the company is misled and disorganized. It’s shocking that they even function at all. There is next to no documentation. Mistakes are made all the time. Siloing is horrible and when someone leaves or worse, all of that knowledge is permanently lost.
