Pros

- Salary/Benefits package can be very generous compared to wider market - Some great genuine people amongst colleagues - Training/Upskilling opportunities

Cons

- Condescending and patronising line management at times (unconstructive criticism/feedback) - Poor and inefficient methodology - producing excessive documentation for the sake of it! - Total lack of strategy, direction and planning. Some senior leaders should not be where they are because of inexperience or failure to grasp good understanding of what a well functioning IT/Change capability looks like! - Most importantly, as a result of the above point, instead of being encouraging, some managers including a senior "head of dept." often made colleagues to feel demoralised and disheartened leading to a greater feeling of imposter syndrome.

The pay is good and some people are lovely.

Cons

- Extremely process heavy, micro-managing organisation, sometimes it's difficult to believe the hoops you need to get through to achieve something basic. - The Head Of of my team was unbearable. He was too difficult to work with and had really made life difficult for rest of the team members. He is a buzzword leader. He created so many processes, contracts, policies, and strategic approaches; never truly listened to anyone and threw people under the bus for his fallouts- it was really difficult. Thanks God I am out!
